Who Is Kate Edwards Art?

Well, that’s me, Kate Edwards. Based on the stunning Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia. 

As for my art, I find it hard to narrow myself down to one style. I love painting colour and whimsy as much as I love painting a green leaf or a landscape. It all depends on what I feel like jumping into when I get up in the morning. 

Most of what you will see here on my site would fall into the world of whimsy. Whether that be a colourful, whimsy reef piece, inspired by our yearly family holidays in The Whitsundays, a bright and bold whimsical garden piece inspired by memories of my European travels or an other worldly magical landscape inspired by childhood play and my own imagination. All I can easily escape into as I paint. 

After years in the music industry making a fabulous living as a singer and filling my creative bucket with music, I’ve taken a different creative route now that’s been calling to me as long as the siren of song has. So as far back as my childhood. At long last I’m in a place where I have been able to give in to the call to paint, the itch of my fingers to pick up a brush, replacing my mic. And once I did I couldn’t stop.

And so Kate EdwardsArt came into being.

I hope you enjoy exploring my art as much as I enjoy creating it. 

It brings me a different sort of joy and calm in amongst the joy of a busy, bustling family life.
