Louis Vuitton

Lyrics & Music By Kate Edwards

I’ve got my french fries, I’ve got my soda and my LV, I’ve got my bags checked, I’ve got my seat, why aren’t you coming after me.

I’ve got my passport, I’ve got my onboard & duty free, I’m sitting waiting, what did you do, you let me go so easily.

And now I, will fly away to who knows where. I left my heart, in New York but I dont care. I will be strong, I’ll find my own way home, I dont care that I’m alone & without you. Now I am gone.

I’m back on land now, life in a suitcase & I’ve arrived. You havent called me, why, dont you miss me, well I’ll survive. Driving the streets home, they’re so familiar but without you, it wont be long now & I’ll start over, no tears for you.

And now I will fly away to who knows where. I left my heart in New York but I dont care. I will be strong, I’ll find my own way home, I dont care that Im alone & without you. Now I am gone.

June 2010

I wrote this sitting in JFK airport in June 2010, eating french fries, waiting to board a flight back home. It’s not the way things were supposed to go. But life never goes the way you plan & boy did it give me some good fodder for lyrics!

I wrote the music for this a few months later when I’d returned to New York.
